Not too long ago, I discovered a YouTuber by the name of Kandy Koxx. I don’t remember if she showed up in my recommended video section, but it doesn’t matter! I clicked on a video of hers out of curiosity and I became hooked! Kandy has so many likable qualities about her; she’s smart, beautiful, confident, a gamer, into fashion and beauty, completely honest with her audience, and so much more!
I approached her on Twitter asking to do an interview and she couldn’t have been nicer! (Thank you, by the way!) I’m very grateful that she did this because I got to know a person I like even more, as well as learn new things about who she is and what she likes. (I’m a fan of the beauty guru’s she mentioned in the interview, too!)
If you haven’t heard of her as of yet, you’re in for a treat! I have no doubt you’ll fall in love with her after reading this interview and you’ll want to check out her Channel right after reading. (You won’t be disappointed!)
Here’s my interview with Kandy Foxx:
1. I just discovered your YouTube Channel and love it! What made you decide to start one?
I started my channel when I was trying to find a purpose for my life. As a married woman in her mid thirties with no kids, I felt my life was meaningless. I wasn’t making a difference in anyone’s life and that was not how I wanted to live. I decided to just start putting up food tasting or review type videos. These evolved into fashion and makeup which had become an obsession of mine.
2. I see you do a lot of fashion hauls. I love fashion and shopping myself. How would you describe your style?
I am comfortable and quirky. I like to wear prints but also be comfortable. I love dresses with leggings but also jeans with a fun top.
3. I saw a video where you said you do have PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) without any cysts. When did you get diagnosed and how have you been doing since then?
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17. I have been very lucky to not have any cysts but I deal with some of the other symptoms every day. Stray facial hair, problems losing weight, uncontrollable hormone spikes are just a few.
4. What is a common misconception about you that you would like to clear up?
I think a lot of people judge me by my weight and automatically assume I am a lazy, greasy food eating health risk. It’s simply not true. My cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugars are all excellent. I’m not saying my weight is a good thing but you can be healthy and fat. Until I left my marriage about a year ago, I was going to the gym 5 days a week and eating more veggies than I knew was possible. I have slipped back into some old habits but I am working on it.
5. What other YouTubers do you like to watch?
I have a huge Subscription list but I kind of split them into categories. For gaming, I adore SuperButterBuns. She’s funny and informative. For beauty, I watch Raw Beauty Krisit and RachhLoves. For my Plus Size girls I love Tiffany Cushinberry, Shanno Whamo, Keiko Cupcake, Connie Clover and Heather Elbow. I also really love watching fitness YouTubers like Travis S, Riley Deveau and Zack Kravits.
6. What are some causes that you’re very passionate about and like to spread awareness for?
I simply like to spread Cheer. I want people to know it’s ok to be fat, skinny, tall, short, whatever. You are who you are so embrace it. Bullying seems so commonplace and it really shouldn’t be. Acceptance needs to be the focus.
7. Tough Question: I know you and your husband separated a little while ago. (If you’ve given an update on this and I missed that video, I apologize.) I’ve seen in videos that you’ve taken things one step at a time and you’ve remained very strong. What’s your advice for people going through a similar situation?
My husband and I split because we simply wanted different things out of life. I needed to grow. It’s tough to not have kids, honestly. I was being the best wife I knew how to be but I still felt like I wasn’t enough. We have been married over 12 years and we were in such a rut. My advice for someone going through a similar situation is make sure you are taking care of yourself and not just surviving. I needed to get out and thrive so I could figure out who I was, beyond a wife.
8. Finally, what does the future hold for you? Do you have any future plans for your YouTube Channel and your personal life as well?
I hope to keep entertaining and keep growing the community I have on YouTube. The comments section has turned from being full of trolls to being a family of positive people. It makes me so happy. I can’t really say what the future holds for my personal life. I am out here being the best me I can be and hopefully I can find someone who appreciates it.
Thank you again, Kandy! I wish both your Channel and personal life many blessings in 2018, you deserve it! Again, please check out her Channel here Also, she just announced on Twitter that she has a P.O. Box! Be sure to send her some goodies if you’d like! I’ll hopefully be able to soon, along with a few more goodies for my other favorite YouTubers!
