At my husband’s library 3 Days out of the year, every year, is their Sci-Fi/Fantasy Festival; kind of a free-to-the-public DragonCon. My husband always does some type of interactive type games with the audience and he has me help him. All of it is a lot of fun.
Since it is a festival/convention, people always go dressed up. This year I went as Scarlet Witch from The Avengers. I found this picture from Pinterest as my inspiration and I will show you my makeup tutorial.
This is from the Instagram Account lizzieolsen, but as I said, found it on Pinterest. This was a major source of makeup inspiration for me. So, let’s dive into what I did to try and achieve the look!
I see that the character likes to keep it pretty natural. For starters, I sprayed on some of my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I then covered up some pimples with my Essence Green Color Correcting Stick. I then went over the Color Correcting Stick with my Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer.
I then covered up my dark under eye circles with both my Neutrogena cover stick and my Maybelline Age Rewind Treatment.
After all that was said and done, I used my Tarte Oil Free Light Colored BB Cream and topped that off with my MAC Face Powder in Fair.
Note: I bought some of this before I went cruelty-free. So, once I use some of these products up, it’s cruelty-free from now on!
I filled in my brows with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the Color Taupe.
My eyes were next. I started by priming them with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
I used my Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette. I did my lid first with the color Skimp and went over it with the color Stark.
I then went over my half my lid with Cover and the other half with Primal.
It looks like she has black liner. So I went in with my Tarte Sex Kitten Black Eye Liner.
Scarlet Witch doesn’t have long lashes, so I’m just going in with a couple of coats of L’Oreal Lash Paradise. (This isn’t my typical mascara or even my favorite, but I’m using it as part of a comparison study for this blog. Ah, the struggles of being a blogger!)
It doesn’t look like she wears bronzer or bright blush, but it does look like there is some contouring and some brownish colored blush applied to her face. So, I’m going to contour with my Lorac Kit and use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Radiant Blush Kit.
Looks like she skips highlighter, so I guess I’ll just have to do without! First world problems, am I right?!
For finishing spray, I used Mario Badescu.
Later that night before I performed with my hubby on stage for his act, I applied a Colourpop lippie. I don’t know the name because I’ve had it for a year and I got it back when I used Boxycharm. Here’s the photo, though:
I like Colourpop, but this one lippie is not my favorite. No matter how carefully you apply it, there’s still a mess, including on my teeth! It also smudges pretty easily.
Here’s the final look!
Special thanks to my hubby’s Library for letting borrow their wig and jacket!
Here’s another look:
Doesn’t that trash can give a nice vibe?!
Overall, I had a fabulous time at the sci-fi convention and hope to cosplay more in the future, as well as give you more tutorials along the way!
Team Scarlet Witch all the way!
